Accessibility
Built to work for everyone
Ironsafe Solutions is designed and actively tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — the internationally recognized standard for making software usable by people with disabilities.
Our commitment
Savings groups often include members who are older, have low vision, limited mobility, or use assistive technology — and this platform already tracks disability status as part of member records, because it matters here. Accessibility isn't an afterthought we bolted on; it's something we actively build, test, and keep improving across the app.
This statement describes what's genuinely in place today, not an aspirational claim. We'd rather be specific and accurate than make a blanket promise we haven't verified.
What's in place
Full keyboard navigation. Every action — logging in, filtering a list, approving a request, filling out a form — can be done without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator at every step.
Screen reader support. Forms have properly labeled fields, tables have labeled headers, icon-only buttons have accessible names, and pop-up dialogs are correctly announced — not just visually present.
A "skip to main content" link so keyboard and screen reader users don't have to tab through the full sidebar menu on every single page.
Color contrast that meets WCAG AA thresholds for text, buttons, and status indicators — checked against measured contrast ratios, not just eyeballed.
Status never relies on color alone. "Overdue," "Approved," "Pending," and similar states are always shown as text, with color as a secondary cue.
Available in English, French, and Kinyarwanda, with the page's declared language switching correctly so screen readers use the right pronunciation rules.
Accessible sign-in. Password fields work with password managers (copy/paste is never blocked), and signing in never depends on a puzzle or memory test with no alternative.
Comfortable touch and click targets for anyone with limited dexterity or using a touchscreen, not just a precise mouse.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is continuous, not a one-time checklist. Areas we're still actively working through:
Independent verification with real screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) and automated tools, beyond our own internal testing.
Chart and graph alternatives — dashboard trend charts don't yet have a text/table equivalent for screen reader users.
Printed receipts and exported reports haven't had the same accessibility pass as the on-screen app yet.
Found a problem?
If something on this platform doesn't work well with a screen reader, keyboard, or other assistive technology, we want to know — that feedback directly shapes what we fix next. Please contact your group administrator, or reach out to the platform's support contact, with as much detail as you can share: what page, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
